Although one session can be helpful for some people, most therapists will tell you that hypnotherapy
starts with four to five sessions.
Dr George Pegios usually schedules 1-3 sessions, but most people respond well to hypnosis after the
first one, so there will be as many sessions as necessary or as few as you need. Three or more
hypnosis sessions are designed specifically and are based on the areas where you and your
hypnotherapist have agreed.
George Pegios - The next major factor that will naturally contribute to the success of your first hypnosis
session is how you approach the session mentally. First, it teaches to become aware of the physical
response to stimuli so that they can be overcome. If you are skeptical and cannot visualize it in your life,
or if your shirt is itchy, you are invited to find out how easy it is to achieve something with the right
technique and guidance, so that you can see how pleasant hypnosis works for you and how pleasant
relaxation is.
If you want to overcome a phobia or lose a few pounds, or if you want to learn more about what
hypnosis is really about, you can arrange a personal session with a hypnotherapist. The hypnotist will
first ask you some questions about yourself and what you hoped for from the session. If you have never
been under hypnosis, the hypnotherapists will ask you few questions to find out how deeply you are
really immersed in the state of hypnosis, and they will want you to explain this to them and answer any
questions you have to make sure you feel perfectly comfortable with the process.
If you believe that the hypnotist does his job well, as described above, and that you have asked all the
questions you think you are asking, then you should feel comfortable when you experience hypnosis.
George Pegios: Before you book your hypnosis session, however, I would like to ask you to learn a little
more about what you can expect from hypnotherapy before and after the session. So I thought I would
create this post to calm you down and explain exactly what is happening before, during and during your
first hypnotherapy. During your session, you will talk less about the symptoms you experience every
day and instead focus on discovering and eliminating the causes of your problems through hypnosis.
